Accounting Problem with purchased domain: goneis20dsvolou.com

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hello!

On 5. Dec 2022 I purchased the domain goneis20dsvolou.com via the wordpress web interface, paying 19€.
The following is info from my Bank’s transaction:

    Transaction number: 202212********[redacted by staff]
    Date: 05/12/2022
    Account: GR********************[redacted by staff]
    Amount: – 19,00
    Valeur: 01/12/2022
    Details: WΟRDΡRΕSS [redacted by staff]
    Branch code: 99

I do not see the transaction made in the ‘Billing History’ of my purchases, under my wordpress profile options.

By logging in at my wordpress admin portal with my email (ka**********(email visible only to moderators and staff)) I cannot create a new site using the domain goneis20dsvolou.com, since an error message is displayed saying: ‘This domain is already mapped to a WordPress.com site.’

Please help me fixing this problem, because I need to use the purchased domain goneis20dsvolou.com.

    Thank you in advance!
    Best regards,
    Kat.Pra.

    I don’t have a site with WordPress.com yet

    Hello again!
Thank you for receiving your reply.
Well, there seems to be one more problem…
The email address you mention syllogvol20 [at] gmail.com is wrong (it does not even exist in Gmail !!! ) and the correct one is katerinaprassa1 [at] gmail.com.
As proof of the purchase, the only info I am able to provide you with a full copy of the transaction details of my web banking platform. In that form my email address is displayed, so for you to link the purchased domain.
I tried to use your “Account Recovery” form (https://wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=recovery) but it does not accept the provided Transaction ID (it returns the error “The receipt does not appear to be valid.”) and I cannot continue with the form submission.
As another proof, I kept the verification email I received when I purchased the domain goneis20dsvolou.com using my email address, but of course the token has expired, and following the “Verify Now” link returns an error page, saying: “Uh oh!
    This email has expired.
Please resend the verification email and try again.”
I also tried to press the “Resend email” button, but it lands again in an error page, saying: “Uh oh!
Sorry, we weren’t able to re-send the email.
If you’re having trouble verifying your contact information, please contact support.”
I am really confused and frustrated with this situation, kindly asking to somehow resolve this matter. This is my last effort to regain access to the domain I purchased.
If nothing else can be done from your side (eg. just administratively transfer the domain goneis20dsvolou.com to my wordpress account), I will consider the purchase as a wasted money… :(
    Best regards,
    Kat.Pra.

  • Hello there,

    Many thanks for reaching out.

The email address you mention (email visible only to moderators and staff) is wrong (it does not even exist in Gmail !!! ) and the correct one is (email visible only to moderators and staff).

An account email address and the email address used for domain contacts can differ. It looks like you’ve attempted to send us the icann verification. I’m afraid this is not proof of purchase.

Also, the transaction details didn’t look quite right, which is why the account recovery form perhaps did not work.

My advice would be to locate a transaction ID as per these steps here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/billing-history/#retrieving-a-transaction-id from the statement of the card used.

It should look similar to this:

The payment method provider may also be able to help with providing this information.

Once obtained, this can be used with the account recovery form.

    I hope this helps.

Hello and thank you for your reply!

I will try to find and provide more info from my bank about the transaction ID.
As for now, I only have available a PDF print out from my bank’s official web-banking site, with the transaction details.

Is there a more safe way to send you sensitive info (eg. by email or personal message) rather than posting publicly here?

I also would like to ensure, that my credit card info is not stored in any way in wordpress’ “Payment Methods”, and also that the “Automatic Renewal” is disabled for the yearly subscription of the purchased domain

In the meantime the email (email visible only to moderators and staff) (in which you mentioned in the first reply as connected to the domain goneis20dsvolou.com) is no more recognized as valid email address in the WordPress Login page (see attached screenshot). A few days back, it was working and asking for password in the next step! (which I was trying to recover).

So how am I supposed to control the purchased domain goneis20dsvolou.com ?

    Please advise!
    Regards,
    Kat.Pra.

  • Generally we would definitely recommend replying to the email that we sent – it avoids posting information publicly. It’s intended that you can reply to it, so it’s totally find to send any information in reply to our email!

    Hello!
You mean sending to the address help@wordpress.com ? I already tried that on my first reply attempt, but I received an automated response, which leads to the known forms (eg. Account Recovery), where I currently have the issue with the non-recognizable Transaction ID.

    Hi!

Unfortunately no other mail message of you has been received in my address ((email visible only to moderators and staff)). I checked all folders…

The only messages I received, are response notifications from this thread.

FYI, I already contacted my bank today, asking for more details on the Transaction. Still waiting for an answer.

    Regards,

    Kat.Pra.

  • Just to check, had you perhaps changed the subject line, when replying to the original email we sent, or created a fresh email instead of replying? This can have the effect of ‘detaching’ it from our original email in our system, which would then cause the automatic response you received as our system sees it as a fresh, separate email.

Are you able to reply directly to our original email without making any other changes to the subject line, to test if it can get to us properly? This will help us make sure our communications with you can be maintained correctly, so that you don’t need to worry about sharing private information here!

Hi and thank you for your reply!

I will check it as soon as possible.

    Regards,
    Kat.

  • Hi @syllgon20dsvolou , just noting I found several duplicate requests that got caught in a filter. I’ll remove the extras for you. Going forward, if your comment gets auto-moderated, just sit tight; we’ll find it.

Also, please avoid copying and pasting entire emails here if possible, as they may contain sensitive info. Thanks!
