Accounts

    Hi

It would appear that I have two accounts with WordPress, only one of which has any blogs attached, and guess what, I can’t get to that account via my iPad! I have no issues from my Windows desktop PC , but when I want to do any work remotely with my iPad I can’t. Please can you help me resolve this issue?

    Regards

    Eddy Lerpinierr

  • Hi Eddy,

Can you please provide the address of the site you are trying to access? The account you’re using to post here does not own any sites, so if you posted this via your iPad it means you are logged into the wrong account.

In that case, click on the profile icon top right and log out, and then clear the browser cache and cookies in Safari. Then log back in using the other username and the password you have set for that account.

    Hi

    The address is http://lerpysphotographyblog.wordpress.com

My registered email is a yahoo one, and since MicroSoft in their wisdom have changed the way passwords are changed since I signed up for that account lo those many years ago, I can’t sign in via that because I can’t remember the password and I can’t reset it either with the new system.

What I’d like to have happen is the WordPress account with the sites to be deleted, then I can change my email address from yahoo to my gmail address on the active account, and then hopefully access it via my iPad. Unfortunately I’ve no idea how to delete an account.

It is not possible to delete a WordPress.com account, and if you delete your sites they will also be gone with no way to recover them or re-use the addresses.

Your sites belong to the second username you’ve used here, eddylerp

The simplest option would be to change the Gmail address associated with your empty account, eddylerpiniere, to something else. That would free up the Gmail address so you can use it for the eddylerp account instead.

The other option would be to transfer all your sites from the eddylerp account to the eddylerpiniere account instead, so that account becomes the new owner. Then you can remove all personal info from your eddylerp account, lock it up with a secure password and forget about it.

    Hi

Thanks for all your help, I think I’ve finally sorted it out and I seem to have access from my iPad and PC now.

    Regards

    Eddy

  • That’s great! Thanks for letting me know :)
