Acquiring a suspended URL
-
If a blog has been suspended, does that URL ever become available for someone else to use? Is there a process for requesting a URL linked to a suspended account?

I tagged this thread for a Staff response. I would never want my username associated with a URL that has been suspended and appears as such in Google’s SERPs and cache. Here are the kinds of activities and types of blogs that get suspended here:

Then if you wish to you can register a domain via a domain mapping upgrade because it does not matter what the underlying .wordpress.com address is when you are domain mapping.

No, it does not become available. If you are able to find contact info for the blogger somehow, you can ask them to transfer it to you and then you contact staff to see how to un-suspend it. Otherwise, there is no possibility. And staff will not put you in touch with the blogger.

We do not recycle blog addresses regardless of what happens to the site itself. You will either need to choose a different address or consider a custom domain that could incorporate the same address, so yoursite.com rather than yoursite.wordpress.com.
