I recently got a refund for $300 as I was charged $300 for my website plan and $18 for domain renewal. However, now my domain is showing as not active or owned. Can I please get help to sort this out? I only need ownership for my domain. -
It looks like you’ve canceled the domain name, meaning you no longer own it.
Please let us know which of these options works best for you:
Repurchase the Domain: We can send an invoice and restore the domain. You’ll be able to point it to a new host as soon as it’s restored, then transfer the registration after 60 days.
Repurchase a Plan: To host your site here after all, buy a plan, skip the domain option, then update us here.

I’d like to repurchase the domain but I’d like to be honored the renewal price. I paid $300 for the website host and $18 for domain renewal. I was only refunded $300, so what exactly is the $18 for??

Actually the entire charge is disputed currently.
If the $18 is still available we can likely restore the domain with that (if you choose) or refund it. However that’s not possible while it’d tied up in investigations.
Do you want to cancel the chargeback so we can proceed?

I tried to cancel the dispute on my end but couldn’t. Once it is out of investigations, can we still restore the domain?

It can take two months or longer for a dispute to be resolved, and by that time it might not be possible to restore the domain again.
Have you tried calling your bank directly to ask them to withdraw the dispute?
If that’s not possible at all, you’ll first need to pay the chargeback fee to unlock your site:

Let us know here once you’ve done that, and we can send you a link to pay again for the domain only so we can restore the domain to your account.

I have canceled the dispute for the charge of $318.
$300 was credited to my account from Word press so what exactly was the remaining $18 for? The domain correct? If so, why is it not active?

The $18 was for the domain, yes, but the total of $318 was disputed, not just the $300.
Your credit card provider has not yet notified us of the resolution, we won’t be able to move on this until we receive the resolution from them, which can take quite some time.

Unfortunately our status on this side still says “Under Review” — can you double check with your bank to ensure the dispute is cancelled properly? It may also take some time to update.

I just called my bank again and they said you guys need to contact your bank to get reimbursed. I also have a statement saying the dispute has been cancelled. Is there an email I can attach that to? I really need to get my domain up and running asap.

We’ll dig into that a bit and update you here with what we find.
We could also use the route my colleague mentioned earlier: pay the chargeback fee, update us, we send a new link for the domain, and once that’s paid we can work on restoring it. Here’s the link for the chargeback fee:

We could reimburse that fee (just not the domain fee) once the chargeback mess is fully resolved. Please let us know if you decide to take that route by updating us here once that’s paid.

Thanks. We just heard back from our payments team about the result of the chargeback. It looks like that could not be cancelled, but it is settled now, and at this point we just need you to pay for the domain. I’ve sent the invoice your way. If you’ll update us here when that’s paid, we’ll get that taken care of.
