Activate just domain

    Hey guys and wonderful people of WordPress World

    Is there a way for me to activate just a domain I used to have back in 2016? If yes, how? Or do I need to have a premium plan for that?

    If I get a premium plan, do I just use the old name and re-activate that website (when they ask me for the free domain name) ?

    Hi Eli,

    Can you tell us the domain?

    If you’re speaking of cineva.net, which you used to have registered with us, that domain expired in 2019, and isn’t in our control anymore. It appears that after that domain expired, someone else bought it, as it now shows as registered with https://www.openprovider.com/

    So if that’s the domain you want to get back, I’m afraid it’s not possible. It now belongs to someone else.

    If you want to buy another domain, you can do that with out buying a plan, but then the domain will redirect to your site’s free address. For the ability to set the domain as the primary address on your WordPress.com site, you need to have a paid plan.
