Activated theme doesn't show
-
I activated Wu Wei for my blog, hopitibetansandmandala.com and it doesn’t show. I only see the original install theme. I cleared my cache, tried a different browser, and no go It even shows the title of the new blog at the bottom of my url, but the new theme and picture doesn’t show at all.

Yes, the starter page is still showing up – not the Wu Wei theme with the flower. I’m going to try another.
Ah, I see – I thought the tree picture in the preview appeared. I got a new layout so I guess I use my own picture. I’m using the Paperpunch theme.
One final question. I have the $18 per yr special. Can I alter the CSS by hand, or do I have to buy that $30 thing? I can do CSS. I don’t need it automated as long as I can get at it. Someone needs this up fast and I only know Joomla, so I’m doing this by the seat of the pants ;’)

Also, can I put jQuery into a wordpress.com site, or do I have to use a downloaded wordpress.org program and upload it to my own server?

You’ll need a Custom Design upgrade to modify CSS.

We cannot allow jQuery on WordPress.com.
how do I add a paypal button?
Following this guide: http://en.support.wordpress.com/paypal/

I put in the Arbitrary text or HTML widget, pasted in paypal code, but nothing is there but the title
That mostly showed how to use paypal, which I already know. I want this to stick, not be a blog entry, so I figured a widget. Or, how can I make it stick at the top of the page?
-
We cannot allow PayPal’s form code. You’ll need to follow the guide at http://en.support.wordpress.com/paypal/
Once you create the button in a post, don’t save it, but instead copy what you have in the editor’s HTML tab, and paste that into a Text widget.

Okay, I figured it out – I have a paypal button. So this means I can’t do actual CSS and HTML coding? Can I add jQuery? I may have picked the wrong modality and have to go to wordpress.org I guess, since I’m used to coding. Thanks.
I think I can get by on this if I can add jQuery. Or is that impossible with a wordpress.com site?

You can edit CSS with a Custom Design upgrade: http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/custom-css/
jQuery elements cannot be added to a WordPress.com blog.
You can make a post sticky following this guide: http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/post-visibility/#sticky-posts

Thanks for the help. I appreciate it. I figured all that out and am happy with the site design, so my last question is, can I put jQuery in a wordpress.com site and how?

I’m trying to upload an mp3. It says I can only use odeo studio. I went to odeo.com and the page is a blank. All it says is something about odeo enterprise. I also looked around and there are a lot of complaints that this service is buggy – if you can find it, that is ;’)
-
I’m not sure where you’re getting Odeo from.
You can upload MP3s, but you’ll need a Space Upgrade to unlock the ability to do so: http://en.support.wordpress.com/audio/
