activated themes but not displaying

Hi, I’m trying to get themes to display. They are activated but my webpage is only showing the index.html (rather than index.php in the wp-content>themes). Previously, I used my own code and uploaded to the FTP. Is this an issue with misliked directories or folder structure? Let me know! Thanks.

It appears that your website uses the self-hosted version of WordPress rather than WordPress.com, which is what this forum is designed to help with.
Note the difference here:
