Activating account

I created an account on the night of the 24th of January. It is now the 25th of January and I am trying to make a post, however it tells me that I need to confirm my account to publish the post, I check my email to see if I received a verification email. But it turns out that I didn’t receive one, so I clicked on ‘Resend Email’ and waited for about 10 minutes to see if I received it. But I didn’t receive anything, so I press ‘Resend Email’ a second time, but this time I waited for about 20 minutes, and yet again, nothing new was sent. So now I am here writing this to see if you can possibly tell me what is happening.
