Activating Widgets or getting them to show to everyone
-
I go to the trouble and people can’t see my widgets on my sidebar. How do I get them to show? What are the steps I need to take to get them to show to everyone and get them activated. I have several widgets under my sidebar but under widgets it says I’ve got no widgets. Why is this? How can I get my widgets to show to everyone? Help
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hello again – widgets are visible by default unless you change their visibility settings. https://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/
Some themes have a default set of widgets that appear if you haven’t added any; that might make it seems like you don’t have any widgets when looking at the Widgets section in the Customizer. However, looking at your site I see quite a number of widgets in the sidebar on the right. What specific ones do you feel are missing?

As for visibility in widgets, what should I put? I put show and nothing after that. Is that OK? What do you suggest?
-
Hello again. Visibility by default is to show. You don’t need to do anything after you’ve added the widget to have them show up, but this may depend on theme.
What specific widgets do you feel are missing?
And on which “both sites”? I only know about daisymae2017.wordpress.com Is there another site I should be looking at?

In my blogroll, I added a link on each site a few days ago but it didn’t show up so I tried again today and it’s not showing up. Running the Bouquet theme. Color Blue on CRYSTAL’S PHOTO-BLOGGING SITE AND pink the default color on WELCOME TO CRYSTAL’S SITE(ORIGINALLY COUNTRY LIVING). Why are the links not showing? The link I added to CRYSTAL’S PHOTO-BLOGGING SITE WAS: WELCOME TO CRYSTAL’S SITE(ORIGINALLY COUNTRY LIVING) and the link for my blogroll on WELCOME TO CRYSTAL’S SITE(ORIGINALLY COUNTRY LIVING) is the same link that’s missing on CRYSTAL’S PHOTO-BLOGGING SITE. Why are the links missing?

Here are the links to your sites:
https://daisymae2017.wordpress.com/
https://crystalsphotobloggingsite.wordpress.com/
On daisymae2017, I see the Links widget in the sidebar, right below your Gravatar widget, but the link to your photoblogging site needs to be changed. You’ll want to update that in the Links Dashboard to what I provided above.
Reference:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/blogroll/add-a-blogroll-link/
https://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/links-widget/On crystalsphotobloggingsite I don’t find the Links widget at all. If you have added the widget in the Customizer, make sure that you have added at least one link in it and that it is using the default “blogroll” category. If it still doesn’t appear, try removing the entire widget and then adding it again.

I removed the Links(BlogRoll) widget from CRYSTAL’S PHOTO-BLOGGING SITE. On WELCOME TO CRYSTAL’S SITE(ORIGINALLY COUNTRY LIVING), I took it down to one link since the other links showed up from out of the blue and took people to an inappropriate site. Found this out when someone contacted me through my Contact Page. Don’t know why that happened. Do You? I edited in dashboard. Please check them if you can. How do I remove a link from my blogroll? I added it again after removing it and it still it is there. Why? What am I doing wrong? Is there a way to transfer posts and/or pages? Now What?

In widgets, I put my Gravatar image in the sidebar. However when I hit the Gravatar on WELCOME TO CRYSTAL’S SITE(ORIGINALLY COUNTRY LIVING) this is what I get: crystalspotobloggingsite doesn’t exist. Did you mean to visit any of these sites. Then crystalsphotobloggingsite.wordpress.com comes up. Then it asks if I want to register crystalspotoblogging site? Don’t know where they are getting crystalspotobloggingsite.wordpress.com? I checked my spelling it’s correct and copied the link you sent. What’s wrong and how can I fix it?

As a forum volunteer, I cannot see your sites’ dashboards and what you’ve added there, so I’ve tagged this for Staff assistance.

Hi there,
On WELCOME TO CRYSTAL’S SITE(ORIGINALLY COUNTRY LIVING), I took it down to one link since the other links showed up from out of the blue and took people to an inappropriate site. Found this out when someone contacted me through my Contact Page. Don’t know why that happened. Do You?
With “WELCOME TO CRYSTAL’S SITE”, do you mean https://daisymae2017.wordpress.com/? Please use the URL when referring to a site, not a title, as I cannot click on the title to reach your site and have no way of searching for the title in our system.
The blogroll widget can only show links that are added here:
https://daisymae2017.wordpress.com/wp-admin/link-manager.php
If a link appeared in the widget, it’s because it was added on that page. Without more information, i.e. the exact URL of the “inappropriate site” you speak of, it’s impossible for me to be of any more help in this regard.
That said, looking at your links list, you have two links added: https://wordpress.com/posts/crystalsphotobloggingsite.wordpress.com and https://wordpress.com/posts/daisymae2017.wordpress.com, that are links to your site’s My Site dashboard. Visitors to your site won’t get taken to your site if they click those links, but will be taken to their own dashboards or the WordPress.com home page. Those two links work ONLY for you, nobody else.
If you want to add links to your sites you need to use these URLs instead:
https://daisymae2017.wordpress.com/
and
https://crystalsphotobloggingsite.wordpress.com/
How do I remove a link from my blogroll?
You manage the blogroll from the dashboard page I gave above:
https://daisymae2017.wordpress.com/wp-admin/link-manager.php
Some links are added by default on all sites, but you can delete them. Or you can use the widget settings to only show links in a specific category, like you’re doing at the moment. I suggest you take a look at the widget’s instructions, here:

Is there a way to transfer posts and/or pages?
What do you mean by this? Where do you want to “transfer” your posts and pages?
In widgets, I put my Gravatar image in the sidebar. However when I hit the Gravatar on WELCOME TO CRYSTAL’S SITE(ORIGINALLY COUNTRY LIVING) this is what I get: crystalspotobloggingsite doesn’t exist.
In the Gravatar widget on https://daisymae2017.wordpress.com/ I only see the link, http://crystalsphotobloggingsite.wordpress.com/. I don’t see the misspelled one you refer to. Where exactly do you see that link?

With Gravatar, I fixed the URL and the Gravatars for WELCOME TO CRYSTAL’S SITE(ORIGINALLY COUNTRY LIVING) and CRYSTAL’S PHOTO-BLOGGING SITE and both Gravatar are now working. Now about transferring posts and pages, I have been considering transferring my posts and pages from CRYSTAL’S PHOTO-BLOGGING SITE to WELCOME TO CRYSTAL’S SITE(ORIGINALLY COUNTRY LIVING). How’s this done? What are the steps? I’ll wait for the staff’s thoughts.

Thanks for instructions. Any suggestions on how to get more followers for my site, CRYSTAL’S PHOTO-BLOGGING SITE?
-
The best way to gain more followers is to interact with other bloggers. Comment on their posts, give feedback to others on the Community Pool which publishes every Monday on The Daily Post, host a blogging event, etc. And make sure your content is well-written and original, so search engines will also send traffic your way.

Thanks. appreciate the tips. Everyone has been great giving help and tips. I do follow and. like and comment on other posts. Thanks Again.
