Active Access Token

  I received an error message stating I need an active access token to create a new site. I have been unable to start a new site after multiple tries and am unwilling to pay for a service that I am not confident will work properly or consistently. Has anyone else experienced this issue and identified a resolution?

  Hi there. Where exactly are you trying to create a new site?

  On WordPress.com all you have to do is go to http://wordpress.com/, click on My Sites, and select Add Site. https://en.support.wordpress.com/create-a-blog/#adding-a-new-site-to-an-existing-account

  There is no limit to the number of sites you can create this way and I’ve never heard of an Active Access token, so I’m thinking you might be trying to set up a WordPress.org site hosted somewhere else. WordPress.com and WordPress.org are completely separate and different: http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

  I did exactly as you stated to Add Site, which is when I received the error message. I confirmed that I am on wordpress.com, not wordpress.org.

  I’m sorry for the trouble you’re having with your comments. Does this happen every time you try to comment from the Reader, or only sometimes?

  If it only happens sometimes, could you send a link to the specific posts you were trying to comment on?

  Also, could you let me know the browser (including the version number) that you’re using to access WordPress.com? (If you’re not sure, you can check here: http://supportdetails.com/ )

  OOPS! I am so sorry. Your issue is not when making comments and I goofed up when I posted that above. :( Please do provide the browser information and know that Staff will address this as soon as they can.

  Hi @sybilgrubbs, I’ll email you to find out the name of the site you’re trying to create and what not, and see if we can duplicate this error. Best :)
