Active link for unpublished post

  Hello,

  I am running a couple of websites (all of them on wordpress). There is one thing I cannot figure out.
  As an author schedules the posts for the day in the morning I also want to schedule these posts at the right time on Facebook. But unfortunately until the post is active and published I can’t do that, since the link is inactive (gives the error: Page Not Found).
  Is it possible to get an active link of unpublished post, so i can schedule it on Facebook?
  If I publish the post, then it appears on the page right away, which is also not good, since we want to distribute them evenly through the whole day.

  If you are using ‘publicize’ on your blog to link up to Facebook, the posts will get published on Facebook as soon as they are published on WordPress.

  If you schedule a post using WordPress it won’t publish on Facebook until the time that it’s scheduled to post on WordPress. So you shouldn’t need to schedule anything separately on Facebook.

  If you have the ‘publicize’ link set up between your blog and Facebook you should be all set. :) If you need more info on publicize, have a look here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/publicize/

  Thans for the help.
  But I do not see publicize (and the share option in settings).
  As I did a quick search it seems that it does not work on self hosted sites. Is it true?

  And I am searching for a solution which allowes me to use specific pictures (which I choose for the post) when sharing on Facebook and I also want to write some text for the shared post. Is it possible? Should I check for a plugin?

  Ah it sounds like you are using a self-hosted site. This forum is all about WordPress blogs on WordPress.com.

  You’ll be best off asking your question on the WordPress.org forums here: https://wordpress.org/support/

  There is a plugin called JetPack which gives you many features similar to those on WordPress.com, including Publicize, so I’d suggest you look into that.

  Oh sorry, I did not check that it is only for sites on wordpress.com.

  But thanks for your help! I will check the plugin and dig further in this case :)
