    Dear WordPress people,

I wish all of you a happy and prosperous 2019!

Due to the high traffic generated, I was thrilled to receive a message to sign up for AdWords.

However, when I tried to sign up for Adwords it looked like I had to me to upgrade my plan, or perhaps due to the high number of readers, I could sign up for AdWords, using my free WordPress site: https://nolanjazimreg.wordpress.com/

    Thank you,

    Nolan Jazimreg

    Hi Nolan!

    Happy and Prosperous New Year!!

WordPress.com bloggers, who are using a Free or Personal Plan, have moderate to high traffic and appropriate content also have the option to apply to the WordAds program. So, you should be able to apply with your free blog.

    You can also check:
    WordAds https://en.support.wordpress.com/monetize-your-site/#advertising
    Apply for WordAds http://en.wordpress.com/apply-for-wordads/
    WordAds FAQs https://wordads.co/faq/

    Hope this helps :)

    Dear khushboo2004,

Thanks for your reply and the useful advice you provided.

I have tried to sign up with my free WordPress.com bloggers for Wordads, and despite my high traffic and the message received, it opens another window, with the following message:

    “You have no eligible blogs
    Ineligible blogs
Nolan Jazimreg (No primary mapped domain)

    To be eligible for WordAds:
Your blog must be set as public
It must have a custom domain as the primary. Or, be self-hosted and using Jetpack.
You must be the owner of the blog

For more information on custom domains please visit the Map an Existing Domain or Register a New Domain support documents. Manage Domains”

One of your links implies that the minimum traffic requirement is thousands of pageviews each month.

Last couple of months, my site had over 30,000 pageviews, but when I try sign, and despite the message I’ve received from WordPress to sign up for WordAds, my site turns out to be an “Ineligible blog”.

    Kind Regards,

    Valon

    Hi Valon!

I tagged this post with modlook to get attention from Staff who can help you.

    Best Wishes!!

  • Hi there,

Even if your site has high traffic you still need to either register or map a domain as WordAds are only available for sites with a custom domain.

That’s why you’re being asked to upgrade to one of our plans. Custom domains are included in all of our plans and cannot be purchased separately.

If you have any other questions, just let me know and I’ll be happy to help.

Thanks for your reply, dear Fstat.

After researching on upgrading my plan, I learned that if I was to upgrade to a custom domain, I would loose share count and probably my pageview stats, something I do not wish to happen.

    Therefore, my next question is:

    1. Is it possible to upgrade and still retain my existing https://nolanjazimreg.wordpress.com/ as my Custom Domain?

    and if so

    2. Will upgrading my plan affect my stats and share count?

    Kind Regards

  • Hi there,

Upgrading to a custom domain does not cause you to lose your pageview stats, as stats are connected to your site, not your domain. Therefore, no matter what domain you may change your site to in the future, your stats will not be affected.

Regarding nolanjazimreg.wordpress.com, it will still be the URL of your site, but now when someone visits the site, nolanjazimreg.wordpress.com will redirect them to your custom domain. So, you custom domain will be your primary domain and nolanjazimreg.wordpress.com will still be active. For more on primary domains, please visit:

Let me know if you have any questions.

    Thanks!
