Ad-free

If I were to use the paid version of WordPress, where ads do not show up on my blog, would I still get all those ads on other people’s blogs?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,

If you subscribe for a WordPress.com paid plan the adds won’t show on your own website?
However, you would still see the ads on other people’s blogs.

You can find more information about ads on WordPress here:
    https://en.support.wordpress.com/no-ads/

    I hope this helps.

I just use WordPress as a hobby. But I would be willing to pay to not see other people’s ads. Other people who are just using the free version as a hobby, too. Has WordPress considered this as an option, just like with you tube, I pay so I won’t see ads??? For some reason, I see a lot of ads lately. It is really bothering me.

Do you see what I mean? Fine to pay so no one sees ads on my site. But I would be willing to pay to not see ads on their sites.

  • Hi there,

Currently, we don’t have any plans that will allow you to do such a thing. However, we thank you for your suggestion.

If you absolutely need to hide ads from the sites you’re visiting (not just the ones on WordPress.com) you can your an ad-blocking browser extension like Adblock Plus or uBlock.

Thanks for answering so soon. I will try Adblock Plus and see if that helps with the WordPress ads. I am serious about people being willing to pay to not see the ads on other websites. Run it by the administration.

I am doing this for fun, and the ads spoil the experience for me. You might consider adding ad blocking as a feature. I understand you need the ad revenue, and it might not be cost effective. WordPress is so great, I don’t want to leave it.

I just did some research. It was only recently that all of a sudden I was getting so many ads on the sites I view on Wordsearch. I found out I do have ad block, but with the Safari upgrade, the ad block doesn’t work. I have to do more research. So, now it seems I have to do things with my computer and I may resolve the ad issue that way.
