Ad inside classic editor

    hi
    the ad for a free domain upgrade keeps reloading during editing in classic editor this is making it difficult to edit the page since it keeps jumping. How do I turn this or or disable this very annoying ad? It is triggering a very negative response.

    Are you speaking of this notice at the top of the dashboard sidebar?

    That shouldn’t have any effect at all on what happens inside the editor itself.

    Can you give some more details on exactly what’s happening? It might help if you can make a short screen recording and share that with us via Dropbox, or even uploading to Youtube so we can see what’s happening.

    Can you also let me know what browser you’re using, and can you please check if the same thing happens if you use a different browser? That could help us narrow down what’s causing the problem.

    hi thanks.
    yep, that’s it. I’m using chrome. what it does is, the ad reloads about ever minute and it makes the page I am editing jump. It does it in classic editor. I have nothing to record it with, best I can do is capture page and paste it in Paint..

    Also, different issue:
    When editing in classic text editor, when I put the curser in front of a line and hit enter, to add a line, the whole page drops down so I lose the place where the curser was.

    AND in both visual and text – when I put the curser in editor to type within a line the page jumps back to the top.

    both of these are just annoying, and I can cope, but the page jumping just pushed me over the edge. these last two issues are really old, since they upgraded the text editor.

    Thanks @spqrius, we’ll do some testing on this. I haven’t been able to duplicate it yet.

    In the meantime, if you use a classic block in the block editor, I’m assuming you don’t see the jumping there? You can get to that by opening the block editor and, after the title, typing /classic and pressing enter. Everything after that will be a mini classic editor.

    Also, if we just use a test draft post that we don’t publish, would it be okay for us to try to duplicate this on your account? We’d delete that when we’re done.

    I disabled ad bloker and the jumping has seemed to stop

    Thanks for reporting back. Not surprised the ad blocker was the culprit. We definitely would’ve suggested disabling that next.
