ad on one of my posts

The June 3, 2012 post on the noontimes blog is a prayer I wrote for a ceremony in which a tree was dedicated to my granddaughter who died in birth last fall. I have to say that when someone pointed this ad out to me (for tree pruning of all things) I was disappointed. I see your message that you may embed adds to pay the bills. Well, before you “sell” a prayer that was written on the death of an infant, someone at WordPress may want to at least contact the blogger. Very crass. Ugly, in gfact. Totally lacking class in any way. Cheap and tawdry. What else can I say? A tree pruning ad on a post written for the dedication of a dead infant. Really? I am disappointed.

Well, you’re not going to like it but the fact is you agreed to this when you signed up here. Ads are not placed by humans thinking “gee, this is a good spot” they are posted by software that looks for keywords. You can buy the No Ads upgrade and prevent this in future if you wish.

Interesting complaint. Clearly, you have agreed to the terms of service for the site and should expect that, unless you’ve paid to ensure their absence, ads may be present.

Perhaps you can pray to have your god intervene in this instance, and remove the ads from the free service you prefer. Yes, I know it’s ridiculous… so is complaining that something happened that you agreed to allow.

Whose fault might it be that you posted something so emotionally important to you and many who may read your writings in a place where ads randomly appear? I’ll give you a hint, it’s not “WordPress.”
