  How do I add ad to the free site? What are the steps ? How does the payment occurs ? Is it possible with personal blog also ?

  There are already adverts on your free website, which is used to pay things such as security etc., but you don’t get any profit of them. You cannot apply to WordAds, which is the programme where you can add adverts which you can make money of, unless you have a custom domain. This is included in the personal plan.

  However, although you may have a custom domain (which also comes with the personal plan), a certain requirement of traffic must be reached before your WordAds application will be accepted.

  Please note that Premium and Business plans all allow WordAds, regardless of the amount of traffic you have.

  Regarding payment, the official WordAds FAQ page states this:

  WordAds pays monthly via PayPal. Payments are sent around the last day of the following month. If you earned less than $100 in a given month, your earnings will carry over to the next month instead.
