Adaption – Featured images are not working.

As the title says. I recently switched to the Adaption theme and all my featured images vanished – haven’t been able to get them to show up in this theme at all, no matter what I try. Is there a setting I am missing or a specific format I have to use? Really frustrated, I was looking forward to playing with this theme. :(

Hi !
I just tried it on my site and the featured image are showing. Could you go in one of your article (in the edit page) to see if the featured image shows up ? If it does, press ‘Update’ and see if it shows up.

Thanks for the reply! Sadly, it didn’t work for me – the image is showing in the sidebar, but Update does not make it show up. I have no idea if it’s something on my side or the server.

When using featured images regardless of the theme it’s critical to use the exact images dimensions specified by the theme or they will not display. Some themes also require a Tag to be set, and some require the post be a sticky post, and some themes require both.
If your previous featured images aren’t displaying as the were prior to a theme change then compare the two detailed theme description requirements for featured image display please.

To follow in the same vein as @timethief, did you try creating a new article with a featured image ?
(I tried the theme and did not specify a tag or a sticky for it to work)

I got it to work on a new blog post, but not on pages. Maybe it’s disabled on pages (which is very strange, but not impossible, I guess)?

There’s not really any in-depth info on it, as you can see. -
Read through the source code of the theme, and if it’s the same for WordPress.org/com, showing featured images in pages are not implemented at all, only for posts. There seems to be no pre-requisites for images also.
I added a featured image from another theme then switched back to Adaption, and it still works. Maybe a problem with the cache of your browser ? Can you reset your cache ?

Thanks for looking through the code, it’s not something I could figure out on my own. I think that takes care of my issue as I have managed to get it working for posts – I’ll just mark this resolved now.
