Add a domain, but it is not mine

    Hello

    i want to add a domain to mi blog, but the domain is already registered.. by a friend of mine… he is going to give me the domain, but we want to transfer, oficially, the domain owner…

    I thought i have to do like in any domain system, ask for the transfer, and he would give me the authorization code, and that´s it… but i do not see that option in the “add a domain” od wordpress.. only the optiin to “map the domain”, but he wants already to transfer me the domain…..

    how can i do that??.. or should i transfer the domain wuth another service (1and1 or godaddy), and then buy the domain mapping? Thanksd

    We cannot accept incoming domain transfers at WordPress.com.

    In this case, I recommend transferring to the registrar of your choice (not us, since we can’t accept it), then just map it here following this guide: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/map-existing-domain/
