Add a feature to add a classic block by default
-
Hello,
I already contacted you by email and I also see there are some threads about the new editor (activated by default now) that doesn’t reply to all needs from your customers (including me) and I wish to have the possibility to add classic block for all of my new articles / pages. With this, it could reply to my needs and maybe for some others users/customers too.
Currently, there is no solution for that according to the answers I received, except to copy an article with the correct settings but there is no sense to do that… The idea behind that is to keep my time to write my article and not to set everytime my article like I want….
Could you please forward this request to your team?
If you are not able to that, another simple way is to enable the classic editor as it’s still maintained, see : https://fr.wordpress.org/plugins/classic-editor/
Currently, I’m not happy about the decision of removing the classic editor and if no solution could be done here, I’ll check with another hosting service. It would be a pity as I’m there since a long time and I have to admit that your services & support are great.
Thanks for your understanding.

Oh, also if you’ll send a link to the post or page you’re copying, and let us know why creating that in a block editor isn’t working for you, we’ll add that as well. Thanks in advance.

Hey,
In fact, I guess it works if I would like to spend a lot of time for nothing more than writing my article.
For my point of view, this new editor is not easier than the preview one (it look muddled) and I have to learn how to work with it and I personally don’t want to lose my time on that.
Now, I guess some users prefer it for their own reason and that’s why I suggest to have the possibility to define a classic block by default.

Hello,
I just noticed that a little change has been done and it’s possible again to use the classic editor!

Thanks for that :)

To clarify we will eventually retire the classic editor completely, so that option is fine to use for now, but will likely go away at some point, so it’d be good to get your help in understanding what the issue was with the block editor for you.
We’d like to collect as much feedback as possible on how to make the block editor work for as many site owners as possible, so if there is anything specific you can share about what makes blocks so hard to use, we’d like to hear about it! :)

Hello,
About block editor, I already gave you the reason and there are also some other threads and open letter for that but to give you again a short resume : I don’t want to use it because I have to learn (again) how it works and today, I just want to continue to write my post in an easy way… This is not our decision/request to have a new editor, this is yours!
That’s why I suggested to have the possibility to get by default a classic block for all new article/page to avoid spend my time to put it manually in place everytime I made a new article. With this, it can solve the issue on my side.
Anyway, for the moment the classic editor is back and I will continue to use as long as I can because it is clearly better from my point of view.
