Add a "follow me on wordpress" button under each article
-
Hi there,
I’ve joined WordPress.com 2 months ago so I’m not really a pro :)
After some 2 hours of looking on the internet, I couldn’t find how to add a “follow me on wordpress” button in the section “share this” under each article, using the function “add a new service” in the dashboard settings.I know I can use a widget, but my widgets appear only at the bottom of each page in the wordpress theme I chose. So that’s not very convenient.
So again, I would like that people can start following me on wordpress easily under each article by just clicking on a button. Is that possible?
Please feel free to ask for more explanations, I might not be very clear and I’m sorry for that.
Thanks a lotThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

First of all, any logged-in WordPress.com member can follow you from the Admin bar that appears at the top of every post and page we visit.
For logged-out members you can add the Follow button found under the Dashboard>Settings>Reading>Follower Settings: Show follow button to logged out users by checking the box and saving your settings.
Since the Follow button appears in the footer widgets on your theme’s single posts, I wouldn’t add yet another follow button. :)

Wow. So fast reply. Thanks
The problem is that non word-press users don’t see the ‘follow me’ at the right side of the internet window. It’s too small and far from the posts (so I’ve been told).
So yes, the follow button appears on the footer widgets, on each “page” of my blog, but not under every single post (or does it? I don’t see it anyways). And since my pages are long, chances are the reader won’t ever find the button…
But if there is no way to use the “share this” area to “add a new service” (like printerfriendly for instance) that would be a “follow me” button, that’s not a problem.
Thank you for your time.
Your blog seems nice. I like your “about” section. Very down to earth.Thierry

Hi Thierry-Here’s how I see it when logged out of WordPress.com using Chrome 32 on a computer whose monitor is 1280×1024
When in single post view (as opposed to the front page view), the footer widget area also appears, so also the follow button appears there. The one thing that I might do to make it more prominent is move it above the email subscription box.
Thank you for the nice words about my blog. I hope you enjoy blogging your adventures, too.
