The problem with putting an image outside the container area is that when someone narrows their browser window the image is going to disappear behind the container stuff. To keep that from happening you have to set a finite left margin for the container and that will effectively increase the width of your theme by the value of the margin you set, so if you set a 300px left margin, your site becomes 1204px wide, which means anyone on a monitor less than 1250px wide is not going to see your entire theme and will have to scroll horizontally to see anything in the sidebar, and over 40% of the people on the internet are still on 1024px wide monitors.

I’m sorry but i did not understand any of that. I’m still new to CSS

Go to your blog main page and then widen and narrow your browser window. See how the main content area remains centered in the window. Now keep narrowing it till the left side of the content area comes up against the left side of the browser window. See how that space beside your header and content area goes away? That is what I’m talking about. Depending on the monitor width setting, and the resolution of the monitor the people are using, they might only see a tiny bit of an image in that margin area, or they might not see any of it at all.

Well is there a way to get it to stick like http://fwarmycp.com/ so when you zoom in it will still stay?

He did that by repositioning a text widget up to that location. You put a text widget at the top of the sidebar, put the following div tags in the text widget and then put your code in between the div tags.

    <div style="text-align: center; width: 190px; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;">All your code goes here </div>
