Add a Norton site-verification tool to WordPress.com, please
-
I currently have two active WordPress.com blogs, neither of which has been verified as a safe site by Norton.
Norton wants me to put a meta tag on the sites before they will verify. Alternatively, they provide some HTML to upload to the root directory.
We cannot do either of those options in WordPress.com, so I’m stuck until Norton’s robots find my sites. One has been active since June. The other longer, but intermittently.
Norton’s robots aren’t in any hurry to find my sites. Meanwhile, when Norton customers do a search for topics related to my blogs, if they see my pages, they will also see little black question marks next to them that indicate Norton doesn’t know whether the sites are safe. Ugh. I wouldn’t click there. Would you?
Alternatively, I may be able to get someone at Norton to hand review the sites, but they still need me to paste that code somewhere. I’m waiting to find out how that might work.
It would be lovely if WordPress and Norton could get together on this problem and hash it out for the benefit of all their mutual customers.
