Add a prefix…..

I’m trying to figure out how to do this….
https://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-add-sponsored-post-prefix-to-post-title-in-wordpress/I’m trying to figure out how to add any prefix to my posts on my blog.

Hi @chatsbythefireside, that article is fairly old and I think we’ve got some easier ways to go about it now. Can I recommend creating a reusable block? It should be a bit simpler:
https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/reusable-block/
Basically you’d create the block, name it
sponsoredif you’d like, and then when you’re typing up a post, just type/sponsored
to pull up that block and add it to the top of your post. And then if you needed to modify the content of that block across all posts later, you could.
Does that help a bit? And if you need more help, could you include a link to your site?

Okay. I can see a use for the “reusable block” that you provided but that’ll be something I use for something completely different. I’m wanting to know is there anyway to add a prefix to the title of each article.

Hi there,
The article in wpbeginner is intended for the self-hosted version of WordPress (which is used to set up sites on traditional web hosts like GoDaddy, Bluehost, etc.) which is the version of WordPress that is usually the choice of web designers and developers, as well as advanced users. The self-hosted version of WordPress offers something we don’t offer on WordPress.com: The ability to directly edit you site’s source code.
Because the wpbeginner article requires that you make PHP code changes to your site, it is not something that can be done here on WordPress.com on your free site.
If you wish to follow the steps in that article, you can enable the ability to edit source code, as well as add 3rd party plugins and/or themes to your WordPress.com site by upgrading to our WordPress.com Business Plan. https://wordpress.com/pricing/
If you are OK with having the text “sponsored post” appear below the post title (instead of in front of it) then you can use the workaround that @supernovia mentioned above.
Hope that helps. Please let us know if you have any more questions.

I figured that was the issue. That I needed to upgrade from the free plan to one that is not free. Thanks for the helps guys!
