    Hi, @iamconsultingagency,

According to the theme documentation, there are four optional footer widgets in Rosalie. They stay empty until you add content.

I do see that this site is using Colinear, though:

The blog I need help with is iamconsultingagency.com.

Please see the Rosalie theme documentation: https://wordpress.com/theme/rosalie
Scroll down to Widget Area section for this info.

Let me know if you have additional questions!

I am considering the Rosalie Theme which I am currently using on another account. I will use all of the widgets available and need one more at the bottom of page just before the site footer.

    Hi,

Within the widget areas, you are able to place multiple widgets. So you can easily place more than four widgets within the widget areas. Will that work for you or is it that you want a full footer widget underneath the already four widget areas?

    Thanks for clarifying.

I need a full footer beneath the four widgets.

    Thanks,

Gotcha. So, I’m not really a CSS expert – just getting my feet wet there. And rather than waste your time and possibly steer you wrong, I’m going to tag staff with the modlook tag and see if they can quickly answer this for you. I’m assuming you would be on the Premium plan, then, so you would have access to staff support for making changes.

Staff/CSS Gurus: @iamconsultingagency is curious if they get the Rosalie theme which has four footer widget areas, are they able to add a fifth one full width below using an :after tag or something like that? Thanks!

  • Hi there,

You can move the full-width pre-footer widget to appear below the other footer widgets instead of above them using CSS. That shouldn’t be too hard.

It might also be possible to move a single widget so it appears below the other widget areas and appears full-width like the pre-footer widget area, but it would need some pretty advanced CSS to look right and also work properly on smaller screens. A customization of that sort is beyond what we provide support for, though, so you’ll need to get a professional web designer to help you with the code for that.

It’s not possible to add an entire new widget area to a theme using CSS only. To do that you’d need to edit the source code of the theme itself and create a child theme. Child themes can be uploaded if you have the Business Plan, but we don’t provide support with creating the actual child theme, so again you’ll need to do it yourself or hire a developer to make the child theme for you.

@kokkieh Awesome. Thank you for weighing in. I was about 75% there but knew you would know faster. :) Have a great day.

    @iamconsultingagency I hope that helps!
