Display posts shortode might get you what you need.

    Read about it here:
    https://en.support.wordpress.com/display-posts-shortcode/

Do you want an alphabetical list of posts?

This might be workable depending on how you need to use it.

    Something like this…

    Alphabetical list of posts:

    [display-posts order="ASC" orderby="title"]

Alphabetical list of posts in one category

    [display-posts category="NES" order="ASC" orderby="title"]

    Hi

To be more specific. I want to reproduce something like this https://caughtmegaming.wordpress.com/game-reviews/

When people select a category on my blog I want my reviews to be easily navigatable.

This is my site now. Essentialperspective.wordpress.com

Looking at that site – the titles appear to have the Game System in parentheses as part of the actual title, so the site may be using just the first display posts example or it might have a category of “reviews” and just pulled those in as in the second example.

Let us know what kind of solution you end up using…

So the code you posted will be able to mimic the setup of the blog I listed?

The first one should give an alphabetical list of the titles of all of your posts. The other poster had the platform of the game within the title of the post. But I didn not see a way to include that information easily.

And the second one would give an alphabetical list of the titles of your posts in the NES category, but it doesn’t include the category name anywhere.

You can test them out in a draft of a post or page. I usually work in the html tab instead of visual – but don’t know if it matters wth the shortcodes. Just copy that code and paste it in. Save it as a draft. Then preview to see the result.

Don’t publish. Then you can just delete the post or page if you don’t like what you see.

Looking at one of your earlier posts – Do you want a menu item for each of your platforms (NES, iOS, etc) with each menu item linking to a page that lists just your category posts on that platform? If so, you could create a page for each of your menu items and use the second shortcode example on those pages remembering to change the category for each one. Each of those menu items could be on a submenu under reviews or something similar. Using the custom menu that Musicdoc recommended in that earlier post.

I essentially want people to click a category on the right and see a list of posts in that category in alphabetical order for just that category.

You will have to bare with me as I am a complete noob at this. I will have time tomorrow to experiment with this.

Also, I am using a free wordpress account. Will this restrict me in any way?

Is it possible you can provide me with a step by step on how and where to implement this code?

I realyl am a complete noob at this. Do I need to go to the my site dashboard first?
