Add an already owned domain name

  I want to clarify if it is possible or not to add an already owned domain name to a free WordPress plan. Or does it have to be to a paid WordPress plan. Please help me clarify.

  WordPress.com don’t accept incoming domain transfers, but if you own a domain elsewhere you can get it to work here by domain mapping. https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/
  You do indeed need to upgrade to a paid plan for this.

  As per the free WordPress plan, the address will be ‘yourblogname.wordpress.com’. In order to add the already owned domain name, you have to upgrade your plan.
