“Add An Image” Locks up
-
When I try to add an image, from the media library. all the steps seem to go ok, but the “Add An Image” window never closes so the site completely locks up and all I can do is reload or back out changes.
Everything was fine until today … upgraded from Vista to Win7 yesterday .. so the upgrade seems to have broken WordPress. (note: using Firefox)

LOTS of people are reporting this lately. I’m wondering if the issue is something to do with the MS changes lately; the last upgrade is notoriously problematic. See if you can go back to an earlier edition of Win7?
You can also try the Cookie Dance, though it’s a longshot: log out, clear cache and cookies, restart.

cleared the cache .. no help.
Earlier version of Win7? Only installed yesterday and everything was working last night … but tonight .. cant add an image at all.

What about your virus scanner? YOu’re not using McAfee are you? Their latest “improvement” has completely mucked things up.

No .. CA – tried snoozing it too.
Update: Confirmed that on a different machine (using FireFox on WinXP) everything seems to be fine.

Wonder if it’s a Win7 issue then. Report it directly to staff via your dashboard Help/Support button; that’s the fastest way. And give them a link to this thread as well.

Resolution: CA Anti-virus script blocking protection.
It appears that an update to my anti-virus enabled all scripting code to be blocked. Now that code is re-enabled, the WordPresss functions are up and running again.
