Add blog to menu

How do I add “Blog” to the menu of my static front page?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi @nowabeliever!

You can use My Site > Menus to add items to your menu.

Click on the + symbol, select where you’d like the new menu item, then choose “Page” and pick “Blog” :)

It does look like you’ve added a page named “Om Bloggen” to your menu, is that what you meant? Right now, that’s set to be your Static Front Page. If you want that page to show your blog posts, you should make it your Post Page, and choose a different Front Page

    I tried that.
Under “Page” there is only “Om bloggen” and “Program B”.
There is no default option that leads to the actual blog.

I do want “Om bloggen” to be my front page.
Ideally I want a top menu called “Blog” that leads to the blog containing blog entries of all tags and then a drop down menu that leads to tag specific blog entries + so that people can subscribe to only relevant tag entries.

Correct – it isn’t a default option, you need to set it up :)

Here’s a link to the relevant section that describes how to do that:

It looks like you already have page named “Blog” and you’ve placed it in your menu – now you need to tell your site to show your posts there.

Under My Site > Customize > Static Front Page, set Blog as your Posts Page :)

You can add tags, or categories, or anything else you need as a dropdown on My Site > Menus

    – Click the + symbol next to Blog
    – Choose to Add item to children (this creates a dropdown menu)
    – Pick Tag
    – Choose the tag you want

A similar process applies to adding categories or other items to your drowpdown.

For the subscription part, people can follow your site and get email updates for all of your new posts.

If they want to follow just a category or tag individually, they’d want to use the feed for that individual item. You can read more about feeds on this page :)
