add border to widget

In the screenshot you’ve provided the section on the right is showing the CSS rules for the HTML element you have selected on the left just fine. It’s showing the same declarations I see in my version of Chrome (27.0.1453.110) and in Firefox so I’m not sure what the problem is, could you try explaining again?

Hi
The problem I described seems to be OK;I feel like I’m wasting too much of your time; I’ve written to you about changing themes on another post; if you have a minute, please read that
For now, could you please help me identify what elements I need to target to accomplish the following:
1) decrease the line spacing between the different elements in the comments (text, reply, like button, comment)
2) add some sort of subtle background color to help the comments stand out
3) possibly add a border of some sort or at least increase the darkness of the border? Thanks and sorry for being such a pain

Hi, I happened upon this older thread and noticed you had some unanswered questions, but then I found that hallluke helped you get everything sorted at https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/need-help-changing-comments-area?replies=4#post-2086149
It looks like you’re really into learning CSS! That’s so cool. Because of that, you might really like this tutorial:

Hi
Thanks for the link; I’ll check it out
Funny part is I hate coding including CSS and have basically just been trying to make the theme look more readable since I wasted about two months picking one -
