Add Chat Feature on blog or wordpress site

Hello. I want to upgrade and have a website on wordpress, but I need a chat feature to speak with multiple clients at the same time. What is the best route to take with my needs? I’m sure there are many apps I could use but my main concern is integrating it onto my website and having it fully functional. Please offer suggestions and anything I can read to help me. Thanks

Ok, thanks. What is the proper name for a website that allows clients/customers to be able to create an account?
What I really need is the ability for customers’ to create a free account and be able to chat with me directly. I’m starting a free counseling website. How might I go about creating a site like this?Thanks again.

On a free WordPress.com plan, the talk.io widget is the only embedded chat option. Another option though would be to set up your contact form and use that as a scheduling tool.
A submission notification would come through to the assigned email address and you could then set up a time to hop on to another chat service like Skype? or Slack?
If you want to upgrade your WordPress.com plan to Business you would then be able to install Plugins on the site. This would open up the opportunity to use something like this: https://wordpress.org/plugins/chat/
