Add code snippets in post

  I want to add css code in my post for users to see and use.

  i read the support advice here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/code/posting-source-code/

  but the [code language="css"] .. code .... [/code] is not working in the post.

  I just tried posting the source code on my test site and it worked flawlessly. How are you posting the code? The code I posted is here.

  yes, it is working. I was earlier writing in the “HTML” tab of the post, I tried writing in the “visual” tab of the post and it worked.
