Add copyright symbol to footer – Business Identity theme

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi there, I added a copyright notice to my footer with the (c) symbol – everytime I refresh the page the symbol reverts to a9.
    can you tell me how to fix this?

    also would like to have this copyright text right aligned if possible.

    thank you for your help!

    You need to put a before the character code. So it should appear as this (without the spaces):

    a 9

    Hi Halluke,
    Thanks for getting back to me.
    Yes that’s what I did and have redone several times, but for some reason it keeps losing the every time the page is refreshed.
    Can you see anything else wrong with my custom css?

    I’ve had a play around on my test site and I think you should be able to get it to work if you use the full 6 hexadecimal digits, it seems like the CSS editor strips out the 2 digit version. I don’t know if this works across different themes, I can’t test in yours as it’s a premium one.

    Try replacing the character code with this (without the spaces):

    0 0 0 0 a 9

    Let me know how you get on.

    cool, that seems to have done the trick. thank you.

    can you advise me how I could right align my copyright notice, rather than have it below the WordPress text?

    Appreciate your help! :-)

    Your site is set to private so I can’t see it but this should move the extra text to the opposite side of the screen (tested in the Business Identity live preview site):

    .site-info:after {
      content:"000a9 Copyright Lalala";
      display:block;
      position:absolute;
      right:30px;
      bottom:30px;
    }

    .site-info {
      max-width:100%;
    }

    If that doesn’t work could you invite me to view your private site, or make it public so I can take a closer look.

    yes, that worked (but had to add the before the 000a9)

    Now that I see it could I ask you another question please. How can I make this bit of text smaller?

    by the way, made my site public for the time being, just in case.

    Oops, I think the slash got swallowed up by the forum.

    You can shrink that text by adding this in to the .site-info:after section

    font-size:13px;

    Great! That is all sorted.
    Thank you so much.
