Add custom text to sidebar?

    Hi. I’m new to this and was wondering if you can add text to the sidebar? I wanted to put a kind of countdown for a goal along the side but can’t see any widget or something to do that with. Would you have to make a new page for that? I only want a blurb of text that I can change weekly.

    The TEXT widget does just that. Go to your DASHBOARD and click the WIDGETS option and you can choose the TEXT widget. I also use a text widget for little pieces of updates/news.
