Add DNS record for .ae

  • Unknown's avatar

Hi! I tried to add a Zone Record for the domain .ae but it asked me to contact support. (ae = arab emirates)

Does that mean that I can’t actually map an .ae domain, or that you need to add the Zone Record for me?

Thanks! (waves at everyone in Happiness, miss ya’ll)

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

What’s the full address of the domain you are trying to map?

the domain is http://brentthomas.ae/ although not ready to map it just yet.

I’m mostly trying to figure out if it’s possible before I tell someone I can do it! (assessing if we need a .org or can use .com install)

    thx

I added a new DNS Zone record for your domain. This change may take a little while to be fully effective. Could you give it some time then try updating the name servers again?

You can go to Store > Domains on your blog’s dashboard and follow the steps there.

Please take a look at the following guide before going through the process.

    So, to clarify:

    1. Yes, it’s possible to map an .ae domain (ok, that question is resolved!)

    2. If I create a new blog for this person, the DNS zone record is already there, attached to my user name? Or does it need to be attached to this blog:

    Thanks!

    1: That’s correct.
2: A domain mapping upgrade will be attached to single blog, you can pick any of your blogs. You can follow the steps in my previous reply for that.

Please let us know if you need any further assistance!
