I’ve tried to add a Zone Record for the domain .com.au but it asked me to contact support. Could you please add the Zone Record for me?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I added a new DNS Zone record for your domain. This change may take a little while to be fully effective. Could you give it some time then try updating the name servers again?

You can go to Store > Domains on your blog’s dashboard and follow the steps there.

Please take a look at the following guide before going through the process.

Please can you give me the A Record IP address at wordpress for my domain http://www.blaug.net?

Do you want to map that domain to your WordPress.com blog?

If so, go to Store > Domains on your blog’s dashboard and follow the steps there.

Please take look at the following guide before going through the process:

What I want to do is to have the site I designed on wordpress appear when someone goes to Blaug.net and to have my (email visible only to moderators and staff) email address actually work. That domain is registered with Easily.co.uk as is the email service. Does that mean I want to map blaug.net onto my wordpress blog? I guess so…

Easily say they need the A Record IP address for my wordpress blog. I have tried to follow the store > domains steps as you suggest but can make no headway here at all. Attempting to follow the support pages on domain mapping has resulted in repeated changes in nameservers, loss of the site, loss of the email etc. etc. I am sorry, but easily seem to think its easy to get the A record, but I am not able to do this either.

Mapping an existing domain to your WordPress.com requires changing the nameservers. We can set the easily.co.uk MX records to make sure you’re e-mail keeps working.

Let us know when you map the domain so we can add the MX records.

Please note that nameserver changes can take up to 24-48 hours to fully propagate.

But to what do I change the nameservers?

  • Unknown's avatar

You will need to update the name servers as below:

    NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
    NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
    NS3.WORDPRESS.COM

Note that you need to purchase the Domain Mapping upgrades in the Store page on your blog’s dashboard to make it actually work.

  • Unknown's avatar

The nameservers are currently set for NS1.WORDPRESS.COM etc.

  • Unknown's avatar

Please make sure you use all three nameservers. Note that nameserver changes can take up to 24-48 hours to fully propagate.

    Sorry for the inconvenience.

I have purchased the domain mapping upgrade some time ago and all was working fine. THe nameservers have been set to the ones you suggest for some time also. WHat seems to have happened is that the mapping has taken some time to complete and now disrupts the email service. So, I am already mapped. Can you now change the MX records?

  • Unknown's avatar

All three nameservers have been with easily for weeks now.

I’m having a hard time finding the correct MX records at easily.co.uk. Please contact their support to get the proper records.

If you want to use Google Apps instead of the Easily mail service. Follow the instructions here.

    Thanks

Easily are asking me to get that information from wordpress! Surely, you have A records or MX records for my wordpress blog. Apparently you do not have IP addresses but there is no way easily can give me that information.

  • Unknown's avatar

WordPress.com blogs don’t have individual IP addresses. We need the MX record of your host (since they are hosting your e-mail service) in able to redirect e-mail. These MX records will be set on this page.

  • Unknown's avatar

I am sorry but I do not understand your comment. They want the A record from you, you want the MX record from them. Help!!!

  • Unknown's avatar

An A record is just to redirect a sub-domain like (mail.baug.net) to their webmail page. If they can provide me the (ip) address of their webmail page, I can add that A record for you.

If you want to use the baug.net e-mail address in a different e-mail client (eg Outlook or Apple Mail), then we need to set the MX records.

  • Unknown's avatar

I am trying (and until today was succeeding) in using apple mail to collect that account.

Turns out easily.co.uk do not allow email services without controlling the name servers. They gave me the following MX records, but doubt they will work and do not support them.

    easilymx2.easily.co.uk (priority 10)
    and
    rhea.easily.co.uk (priority 10)

I’ve just set them for you over here. Could you test if your blaug.net e-mail works?

    Thank you!
