Hi,
I have created a zone record for sarahball.co.uk. So you should be good to go.
Let me know if there is anything else I can do for you.

Thanks for doing that. I’ve been told by my website host (Freeola) that they don’t support porting over email facilities but they can port the website and keep my emails untouched with them. They said to do this I need to get an ‘A record or C name record’ from you. I’ve no idea how to do it. I’ve posted on the forum and no answers? Any help would be hugely appreciated! Sarah

Hi there Sarah,
To clarify, are you wanting to use http://sarahball.co.uk as the link to your http://sarahballwriter.wordpress.com site?
Are you also wanting to keep your email with Freeola?
If the answer to both of these is yes, you will need to map your existing domain (sarahball.co.uk) to your site here.
Doing this will allow you to control a number of settings on your domain from within your WordPress.com account.
You will also need to ask Freeola for “MX records” so that your email will continue to work.
When you have those, you will be able to enter them using the Custom DNS feature in your dashboard.
Please let me know if you have any questions about the process.

Yes that’s right I want to port sarahball.co.uk to WordPress but keep my email with Freeola. However I can’t go further ahead in the process until I can give Freeola an ‘A record’ or ‘C name record’ which I have to ask you for but I don’t know what they are or how to get them?? CAn you advise on this? Thanks

Hi there Sarah,
Yes that’s right I want to port sarahball.co.uk to WordPress but keep my email with Freeola.
Great. The instructions above are still valid for that then.
However I can’t go further ahead in the process until I can give Freeola an ‘A record’ or ‘C name record’ which I have to ask you for…
So, my apologies for not explaining this earlier, but WordPress.com does not support pointing an A record to our servers.
We do support CNAME records, however you would have to use something like blog.sarahball.co.uk. You couldn’t use just sarahball.co.uk here with a CNAME. So essentially, your site/email setup won’t work the way you wanted if you used a CNAME.
Feel free to send this over to Freeola, if you like:
I would like to use my domain with a WordPress.com site. In order to do this, I need to point my domain’s name servers to the following:
NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
NS3.WORDPRESS.COMI do not want to transfer my domain, but want to leave it registered with you. WordPress.com does not permit mapping by setting an A record to point to an IP address. They require the name servers to be updated as described.
I also will need my MX record information so that I can keep my email service with you.
Once you have the MX record information, let me know if you need assistance with entering that into your WordPress.com account.
