Add Domain without repointing nameservers to wordpress

    Hi

I’d like to add a domain to my blog, but everything says I have to repoint my nameservers to wordpress. Is it possible to just keep my own nameservers (actually godaddy ones using total dns service) and add a dns entry to point the domain and www subdomain at a wordpress IP address.

I ask because I have some subdomains which I need to be able to control. If I do set my nameservers to wordpress is there a way to modify my dns entries through wordpress, at the very least the mx record.

if I can’t do this i’ll just have to settle for url redirection which is less than ideal.

    Thanks for your help

The only options available are in the faq.

You can use the CNAME setting to point a subdomain at us for a domain registered elsewhere.

There is no way to otherwise access settings, including the mx records.
