Add Easy Table Plugin
-
I’m creating a simple site for our small youth hockey league. We’d like to be able to display basic statistics, which I can do with and HTML table of course, but no doubt the kids and parents would like to be able to sort. And no doubt the stats will be changing weekly, so the ability to simply replace a file and have the site update is important. The Easy Table plugin from WordPress.com sounds like the perfect simple solution for myself and the needs of many other users.
I can’t think of anything I’d design without the use of a table to present some kind of data. Not over the top, just enough to easily present some data with basic functionality.
I mistakenly upgraded to Premium just to have this plugin, without understanding the ability to upload plugins of my choice wouldn’t be available.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE add Easy Table as soon as possible!!!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Correction, the plugin is currently downloaded from WordPress.org.

Hi there!
I agree – a simple table, or the Table Press plugin (https://wordpress.org/plugins/tablepress/) would so beneficial. Tables can be used for so much, especially for people that can’t/decide not to self-host.
God bless!

To create your own HTML tables see here > http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2013/04/09/table-coding-for-wordpress-com-users/Another good reference link is http://www.w3schools.com/html/html_tables.asp
Note that if you use Windows then Windows Live Writer it has a tablemaker > http://en.support.wordpress.com/xml-rpc/windows-live-writer/ Note: Firefox users on Windows machines may need to clear the browser cache with ctrl+shift+del in order to get Firefox to recognize the formatting. https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/posting-of-word-files-with-tables?replies=6
Note this is the correct forum for making requests but based on my 8 years of experience I advise you not to hold your breath and expect any new plugins to be added any time soon.
If you want FTP access and to install plugins or third party themes into a site then you will have to hire a web host http://wordpress.org/hosting/ and set up your own WordPress.org install. WordPress.org offers free software that you can install on a web server. You can upload and install themes and plugins, run ads, conduct ecommerce and edit the database. Learn about the differences here. http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

Thanks timethief, but the only solution that seems to resolve the simple root of my request, sorting a table, is to move everything to WordPress.org. That’s a lot of hassle just to sort a table, a basic functionality observed just about everywhere on the web today.

Yes, thank you! I agree, we are hoping for a wordpress.com official plugin. But thank you again for taking the time!
