Add entry to page

  How do I add a post to a page other than My Posts page? When I choose to add a new entry, it doesn’t give me the choice of which page to put it on.

  Hi Jan,
  Posts don’t actually publish on Pages.
  Pages are static and will only display text and media you add to them manually.
  However, if you want your posts to be published in various places on your site, you can do this by creating Categories. Here is information about how to do that:

  Once you add Categories and assign your Posts to them, you can include the Category names into your menu. This way, your visitors can click on those tabs to read the posts there. To create custom menus, take a look at this:

  Hi, Robyn,

  Ok – I got to Step 3. I have a menu with 4 categories, but on the drop down on the Left under Categories, I only have “uncategorized.” How do I categorize the 4 pages on my menu?

  Hi there. I see a menu with page tabs, but not Categories, because you haven’t yet created those.

  If you want “My Posts,” “Kindness Corner,” and “Too Funny” to appear as Category tabs on your site, you first need to create them as Categories. To do this, click Posts → Categories in your Dashboard. Then Add the Categories you’d like.

  Next, go to Posts → All Posts. Open your first post, “BOOM BOMBA BOOM!” in the editor. On the right-hand column, you’ll see a box labeled Categories. Add your post to whichever Categories apply. Click the Update button.

  Repeat this step with all your posts.

  Then return to Appearance → Menus. In your Menu Structure, delete whichever page tabs are not currently working in your site’s menu. To delete, click the little down arrow next to the name of the menu item and then click Remove.

  Now you will add your Categories to your Menu. They will now appear in your left-hand menu. Only Categories with Posts assigned to them will appear. If you’ve create a Category, but it doesn’t yet have any Posts assigned, it will not appear in that list.

  Next, click Create Menu. Then Add the Menu as top level navigation. Save your menu.
