Add gallery from iOS App
-
Is there a way to add gallery images through the iOS app? This is the only forum I found on this topic, but it didn’t have any clear directions or a conclusion on when the feature would be added to the iOS app.

Hi Ming – The workaround that Dan gave in that thread is the only way to do it currently, but an easier way will be included in a future version of the app, hopefully soon – just keep it updated. :)

Looking forward to the update! Any idea on the timeframe?
I tried different things with the workaround for a bit, and thought I would more explicitly outline it here for anyone else looking to do this as well.
First, upload all the images you want in the gallery. In your post, you get all this:
<img src=”http://8legsandatrailer.files.wordpress.com/2014/01/20140121-094211.jpg” alt=”20140121-094211.jpg” class=”alignnone size-full” />Then, delete the entire <img src….etc etc> tag as well as the
tags. Clean it up so it just the tags for each picture are left. Delete all but the last closing tag. Insert the [gallery] tag (can you also define the type). Then close with a tag. This is what worked for me:
(note: “rectangular” is the “tiled mosaic” gallery style)
Hope that helps anyone else in the immediate future. It took a while for me to understand how to do this, since it wasn’t explicitly explained in the forum.
Another question for the Staff: how do we add captions to the pictures from the iOS app? Thanks!

Oh whoops. I forgot to define the HTML as “code”. Let me try again…
This is what you get when you upload the pics using the app:
<a href="http://8legsandatrailer.files.wordpress.com/2014/01/20140121-094211.jpg"><img src="http://8legsandatrailer.files.wordpress.com/2014/01/20140121-094211.jpg" alt="20140121-094211.jpg" class="alignnone size-full" /></a> <br /><br /><a href="http://8legsandatrailer.files.wordpress.com/2014/01/20140121-094619.jpg"><img src="http://8legsandatrailer.files.wordpress.com/2014/01/20140121-094619.jpg" alt="20140121-094619.jpg" class="alignnone size-full" /></a> <br /><br /><a href="http://8legsandatrailer.files.wordpress.com/2014/01/20140121-094625.jpg"><img src="http://8legsandatrailer.files.wordpress.com/2014/01/20140121-094625.jpg" alt="20140121-094625.jpg" class="alignnone size-full" /></a><br /><br /> Clean it up so it looks like this: <a href="http://8legsandatrailer.files.wordpress.com/2014/01/20140121-094211.jpg"> <a href="http://8legsandatrailer.files.wordpress.com/2014/01/20140121-094619.jpg"> <a href="http://8legsandatrailer.files.wordpress.com/2014/01/20140121-094625.jpg">[gallery type="rectangular"]</a>
