Add guest user

  Are ‘guest’ authors only available with premium accounts? This was available when I user WordPress in my previous job (for Commonwealth of Mass.). But the option doesn’t appear when I add a user now. I want to add user without having to ‘invite’ them.

  Hey tomwitkin,

  You can have users with roles of Administrator, Editor, Author, Contributor and Follower/Viewer on free WordPress.com sites.

  You will need to invite users to participate on WordPress.com. The ability to add users at your previous job was due to using a self-hosted WordPress installation. There are differences between WordPress.com and WordPress.org, and the method of adding users is among them.
