add image to left or right of text on a page (Harmonic Style)

    Not really using widgets on pages so it would be nice to be able to add images to both the right and left of the text – is this possible with the Harmonic Style?
    Thanks

    Can you be a bit more specific on where you are wanting to add the images? With responsive designed theme such as Harmonic, this could be somewhat challenging and may not be something that would turn out acceptable.

    A link to a page you want to do this on, and also a link to the images would be really useful.

    the first ‘welcome’ page is where I would like to add some pics to the right and/or left of the text as you scroll down the welcome page. the images would be a photo of myself, and some other painting images – similar to the ones that currently appear with in the text column.
    Appreciate your assistance.

    Thanks for the info. If you grab your browser window and narrow it and watch the content, you will see that at about 1200px in width, the space beside the content stabilizes until we get down to 1024px in width and then the content goes to full width. We can add at least one image to the right or left of the content, but we would have to limit it to screens 1024px and wider screens with a media query.

    does that mean the images would not appear on phones and tablets?

    That is correct. If we left the images on a phone, in portrait orientation, there would likely be no room for the content. That is one of the reasons that on responsive designed themes, the sidebar moves to the bottom below the content, and the reason that with grid layouts, on phones instead of 3 or 4 columns, you see just one.

    I’ve played with this some more and tried a number of things and tricks, and due to the way the scroller works in Harmonic, I cannot get the image to stay beside the content reliably. I can get it there, but then if I change the width of my browser window, it disappears.

    Alright – appreciate your help – seems like time to cry uncle and give up.
    Don’t know if this breaks support protocol, but, I did have a follow on question to my issue with the MENU not showing up on the phone view. It now shows as desired (thanks to your directions) but when you scroll down the first page in phone view the top header (Title and Menu) don’t stay put. This forces you to scroll all the way back to the top to navigate to the menu.
    Thanks for your help.

    Give this a try. You lose just a smidgen of the top of the top image, but It will keep the menu set. If you have the menu open though and scroll down, the submenu will scroll up with the content. if we left that fixed too, it would obscure a good bit of content on phones and smaller tables.

    #mobile-panel {
        position: fixed;
    }
