add images to theme home page

The opening page of my blog has two large messages seen by visitors that read, ‘No Image Found’. I have not figured out how to add images there. Please advise- thank you.

Eye now have two problems. In attempting to add images at my theme home page, eye inadvertently shut off the footer’s ability to display images. Have a widget set up with a gallery, but now it doesn’t display.
Any help on these two is greatly appreciated.

It looks as though this website is a self-hosted WordPress.org site rather than WordPress.com.
