Add link for posts

Hi, I’m really struggling with WordPress. I want to add a photo with a title on the foreground that is a link to the blogs related to that area. I’m using the free Ixion theme. Also there are blogs on the homepage that I don’t want there, I can’t seem to reorder them and basically put them in a folder on a separate page. Any help would be appreciated!

    Hi Kate,

I want to add a photo with a title on the foreground that is a link to the blogs related to that area.

You may insert an image into the content of the static homepage, and add a link to it as described in the Adding Links to Images section of the Links support page. The phrase “blog related to that area” suggests that you want the image to be linked to a category page. See the Category Pages & Menus section of the Categories support page.

Also there are blogs on the homepage that I don’t want there, I can’t seem to reorder them…

It looks like you might have inserted a Blog Post Listing Block into the content of the homepage. That will automatically display a certain modifiable number of posts in reverse-chronological order, with the exception that a post marked sticky will always appear at the top of the others. If you want to have more control over the order, then you might consider using Display Posts Shortcode instead of the Blog Post Listing Block.

and basically put them in a folder on a separate page.

Use category pages to arrange posts in various categories.

    Regards,
    doc
