Add links to a gallery image

  Please please please wordpress.com make this a feature! It makes zero sense that you can create a gallery but not link directly from the image to the original post.

  OR, can you please tell me how to format a page so that it LOOKS like a gallery (i.e. more than one photo on each line) but where I can still have each photo link to the post?
