  I click on the “Upload Files” and the only option reads “or Select Files”. I am unable to upload images…particularly for a featured image.

  You can either drag you images from the desktop folder into that box or you can click the “Select Files” button and select the files you want to upload. http://en.support.wordpress.com/images/uploading-images/
