‘Add media’ application crashes browsers

    When trying to upload an image for use in a post, my web browser crashes upon selecting ‘add media’ (image).

    I have tried using multiple browsers, but each one crashes. I’ve tried turning off plug-ins, java, javascript, etc, but to no avail. Here are my specs:

    Mac 10.4.5
    Firefox 2.0.0.15
    Safari 2.0.3

    This problem only recently came about. I was able to load the header image onto my page with no problems. Then two weeks ago, this crashing issue came out of the blue.

    Does anyone have any suggestions?

    Hm.. there seems to be a recurring problem with the upload. Several people seems to have the same problem. The only thing I think you can do for now is to report to staff, and try again.. (they won’t be back before monday, though).
    I have no problems, and I run mac 10.4.11 and firefox3.
    (maybe someone else will pop up with a solution :-S )

    Problem solved! First I started hotlinking images as a temporary fix. Then to solve the problem for good, I just did a system upgrade. Now I am running 10.4.11 and firefox 3. I think I stayed away from doing a system upgrade via the apple menu because it’s screwed me in the past. I think it was with itunes. It allowed me to download the latest itunes version, but it was not compatible with my operating system. It’s a very un-mac like advertising tactic to get you to upgrade to a new OS. Not cool mac. Not cool.

    Anyway, problem solved now.

    Good schtuff. Glad to hear it (and I have never had any upgrade problems – – with the exception of hated ms office for mac).
