Add media button does not appear

    Every time I go to put up a new post, I usually want to add a photo into the text, but the “add media” button never appears at the top of the page as it should. Where is it and why is this????

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,

    Currently, I see the “Add Media” button on the Edit Post screen for your blog as shown by the screenshot here:

    Are you still having trouble with this? Have you tried from another browser (like Chrome or Firefox)?

    Happy to troubleshoot with a bit more information!

    Thanks. I was just press on “new post” and when the screen comes up from there, the “Add media” button does not appear to appear, if you get what I mean. Does this happen if you try this? So, if I’m just going on to put a new post, what’s the best way in?

    Hi!

    Are you doing this from your WordPress.com dashboard (not your blog dashboard)? If so, you should be seeing this:

    In that case, you would need to press “Insert Photo” to add a photo to your blog. However, if you go to your blog dashboard here:

    itshouldnthappentoavegan.wordpress.com/wp-admin/

    You should see the “Add Media” button when adding a new post as shown by the screenshot here:

    Is that what you’re seeing?

    Hi Again

    I know you are probably beginning to despair of me, but if I log in, I get the avatar of me, an option to make a new post, or reader, stats, my blog, or freshly pressed – these are the only options I can see, so which one do I press to get to the dashboard? I usually go through new post (obv) but that is when I don’t get the media button, and the add photo thing doesn’t work, although I have tried it on numerous occasions…

    Hi there!

    Under your Gravatar photo in the top right-hand corner, you should see an option to click on your blog as demonstrated by the screenshot here (in this case, my blog is called “My Blog”):

    If you click that menu item, you should be directed to your blog dashboard which should look like this:

    Alternatively, if you want to access your dashboard, you can just add /wp-admin to the end of your blog address. For example, http://itshouldnthappentoavegan.wordpress.com/wp-admin should take you to your blog admin.
