Add Media change?

I was working on several posts this evening, and suddenly Add Media had a new interface, one that opens up almost full-screen. It was easy enough to navigate, but seems buggy. It wouldn’t add any images when I used it, just empty blank indent spaces where the picture should be.
This is really frustrating, falling under the ‘ain’t broke, don’t fix it’ category. The old one was working just fine, and this new ‘feature’ doesn’t work at all.

Update: I am able to insert a picture if I upload it anew. Adding ones previously loaded to my media file, however, doesn’t work.
