Add Media/Insert Google Docs Reference

  When inserting media into a page from my media library the generated/inserted code uses Google Docs: http://docs.google.com/gview?url=http://XXXXXX/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/PCT-Update-2.pdf&embedded=truePCT Update 2

  Is there a way to not engage Google Docs? If the site is being accessed from China the media is not displayed due to all things Google being blocked.

  Hey millsmw,

  If you upload your file directly to the WordPress.com media library, it will not have any connection with Google Docs.

  Upload a Document

  But if you embed the Google Docs to your posts only then it will be fetched from Google.

  Embed From Google Docs

  Otherwise, directly upload to the media library and add to your post.

  It turns out that I forgot about a plugin I’m using that uses Google Docs to display PDF’s.
